Let’s Talk About… Self-Love

Generally a holiday for couples to show each other a little bit of love (and for singletons to either fully embrace the day, simply ignore it or become completely anti-valentines). I am declaring this year though valentines should no longer be just for couples, but instead you should show another important person in your life some love. Let’s Talk About… Resolutions

I hope your Christmas has been a good one and that you’ve spent plenty of lazy days chilling with family and friends and enjoying the Christmas break. I have absolutely loved the last couple of weeks and have certainly recharged my batteries ready for 2017.

2016 has been a bit of a crazy year and I am really excited to see what 2017 has in store. I’ve got a few big projects to look forward to this year, and I can’t wait to see what else this year will bring. Like many people I like to start the new year off with a few goals and aims ready for the year ahead. A new year to many is a new start and a reason to introduce new and healthier habits into their lives (or eliminate unhealthy ones). I am all for any reason for people to try and look after themselves a bit more or achieve a personal goal, which is why today I wanted to talk about setting new years resolutions and how to make them as effective and sustainable as possible.

Let’s Talk About… Meditation

Screen Shot 2016-10-01 at 21.52.49.png“Ommmmmm… Ommmmmmm… Ommmmmmm” I fully admit until I started meditating this was the exact thing that came to my mind when it was mentioned. I am completely guilty of associating meditation with monks sat in a temple somewhere, knees crossed “Ommmm-ing”. Either that or some woman on a tape telling me to focus on some fluffy clouds and a calm sea.If anything I found the prospect of sitting still trying to focus on letting thoughts fly away a little bit stressful. I was definitely a ‘I’m too busy for mediation’ kind of person; between trying to juggle friends, family, a full time job, a masters degree, staying fit and generally trying to live a life I just didn’t see enough hours in the day for meditation. Oh boy was I wrong!

Let’s Talk About… Bed

It’s the place we retreat to at the end of the day, to relax, rest and reboot ready for the next day. It’s our own personal haven and so it should be as it’s where we go to get a good night sleep. And sleep is pretty darn important to our lives. So here is our guide as to why sleep is important and how to make your bed time routine the most relaxing possible to get a good nights rest.

Now I know that many of you will sit there and see fat as your number one enemy. Surely eating fat will only lead to you getting fat? WRONG!!! Let’s get one thing straight – Fat is your friend. Your body needs it to survive, and by choosing your fats carefully will help it thrive.
